Junior Credit Risk Analyst

Our client is seeking a (Junior) Credit Risk Analyst for credit analysis, risk monitoring and reporting. The role requires an analytical background and experience in credit analysis, with a focus on credit loss mitigation and risk management. The ideal candidate is customer focused, independent, stress resistant and works closely in teams.

Description

  • Thoroughly prepare and analyze credit files
  • Guide the correct route to reach a decision (through credit committee, or under 6-eye principle)
  • Participate, coordinate and defend the analysis during the credit committee or ensure that the correct 6-eyes are involved in the decision-making process
  • Participate in a jointly supported credit decision
  • Daily analysis and follow-up of reports that serve as a basis to detect and monitor potential credit risks (over-limits, coverage gaps, overdrafts, derivative calculations)
  • Organize follow-up with 1LoD on risk factors, enforce appropriate actions to resolve identified exceptions and escalate to credit committee and/or Chief Risk Officer where necessary
  • Correct and timely daily processing of not automatically approved payments due to deficiencies or documentary imperfections, and taking a decision to make the payment anyway based on proper risk assessment
  • Identify and actively follow up irregularities and escalate if necessary
  • Monthly preparation of Exception Reporting Minutes for the various Business Lines
  • Advising in and coordinating the monthly Wealth Management Watchlist Committee to jointly arrive at a timely and correct risk reclassification of individual credits should this be appropriate based on the early-warning signals emerging from exception reporting
  • Monthly preparation of the Risk Dashboard reporting all risk types by department of the bank.

Your profile

  • You have a Master's degree preferably in an Economics field
  • You have 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in credit analysis of companies
  • You are analytical, with a clear structuring and justification of advice and an eye for detail
  • You have sound product knowledge (including laws and regulations), mainly products related to credit, derivatives and investment instruments and diamond financing
  • Legal and accounting knowledge are pluses
  • You have good communication skills to discuss and explain decisions to all stakeholders
  • You are well versed in MS Office (Word/Excel/Powerpoint)
  • You write and speak Dutch and English fluently, French is a plus
  • You are service and customer oriented
  • You are punctual, conscientious and accurate
  • You have a sense of responsibility for the work delivered and the results obtained
  • You can work independently and you take initiative, but at the same time you are a real team player
  • You are stress resistant and flexible.
