Collection & Debt Recovery officer

Are you a driven professional with experience in debt management and an affinity for legal matters? Our client is looking for an ambitious Collection & Debt Recovery associate responsible for various aspects of debt settlement and garnishment. With your analytical ability and proactive attitude, you will contribute to the management of complex files and maintaining client contact. Description

  • You are responsible for the procedure collective debt settlement bankruptcy & concordat, death, opposition,....
  • You take note of requests for specific debt arrangements, bankruptcy, death, etc., register relevant data in the system
  • You send correspondence to the debt mediator, trustee, court, bailiff, including filing a claim, draft amicable settlement, etc.
  • You investigate the opening of estates and possibly put heirs in default.
  • You assess the "amicable plan collective debt settlement" and test the "judicial plan collective debt settlement".
  • You work out proposals and prepare summary notes in preparation of the decision by the responsible person (+ possibly the servicing client)
  • You inform the debtor if required and answer questions
  • You perform tasks related to third-party attachment, real estate attachment (of undivided rights), wage attachment, wage waiver,...
  • Examines files: state of affairs and history, current balance, number/identity/coordinates of debtors, verifies the situation and solvency of debtors
  • Checks legal possibilities and actions to be taken, contacts debtors and discusses/negotiates repayment options
  • Declares debtors in default, sends reminders, draws up statements (automatically or manually), prepares payment proposals (automatic and manual correspondence)
  • Initiates procedures "seizure of real estate and movable property", wage withholding, etc., taking into account revenue possibilities and ranking of creditors, prepares the file for bailiff or lawyer, coordinates with lawyer about legal implications.
  • Enters relevant data and conclusions of the various activities into the system for further follow-up of the case.

Your profile

  • You preferably have at least one year of experience in a similar position
  • You have a very good knowledge of Dutch and have a good knowledge of French
  • You have a bachelor degree or equivalent through experience
  • You have a good knowledge of MS Office
