Assistant Underwriter Marine

Our client offers customized insurance solutions for companies through a network covering more than 175 countries. In Belgium, our client focuses, from its offices in Brussels and Antwerp, with more than 100 experienced colleagues on the branches of Fire, Liability, Technical Insurance, Transport and many more specialized products. For the Marine department in Antwerp, they are looking for an Assistant Underwriter Marine.

Description

  • Perform administrative and support activities in order to provide proper support to the underwriters Marine & Transport.
  • Based on the prepared quotations and coverage confirmations, check incoming policies and endorsements from brokers for correctness.
  • Compliance checking of parties worked with through existing control system.
  • Inputting risk information from clients to ensure correct follow-up of exposure for CAT/NAT risks.
  • In charge of creating new files and completing existing files, for which you are responsible or assigned.
  • Watch over the data quality of the data entered into the IT systems.
  • Answering questions from brokers and/or clients in consultation with the Underwriter.

Your profile

  • A degree in Finance and Insurance is a plus, but experience is equivalent.
  • You have a very good command of the languages Dutch and English.
  • Some relevant experience as an administrative assistant or file manager is also a plus.
  • You can work fluently with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel,...) and IT tools in general.
  • You are communicative and punctual.
