Underwriting Assistant Marine
We are currently looking for an Underwriting Assistant for our client, an international insurer, to support their Belgian Marine division in Antwerp. This position consists of supporting Underwriters and Senior Underwriters in securing profitable renewals and generating new business in line with agreed area/segment strategies. You will work with the Underwriting team on a portfolio of accounts and assist with all phases of the underwriting process within agreed processes and risk appetite.
Description
- Support the Underwriting team at every stage of the underwriting process by gathering, organizing and interpreting information needed to secure and maintain the account.
- You will assist the team with very specific underwriting tasks such as ship and warehouse screening, profit share calculations, sanction checks, etc.
- Based on existing templates you draft official documents such as insurance certificates, policy documents and premium documents.
- You support the team with a wide range of administrative tasks.
- You play an active role in external and internal audits and support the underwriting team where necessary
Your profile
- You have a higher education degree (Bachelor/Master)
- You preferably have a first experience in the insurance world
- You can express yourself fluently in Dutch and English
- You have strong administrative skills
- You have attention to detail and ability for self-management
